To upload, sync, and view files from a web browser or any mobile device, sign in to OneDrive, Microsoft’s new cloud storage service. After a protracted legal battle, Microsoft was forced to change the service’s name from SkyDrive to OneDrive. In my opinion, the new name “OneDrive” not only sounds better, but also makes more sense given that Microsoft already has other products with the “One” prefix, such as the well-liked OneNote service.
This is undoubtedly one of the best file hosting services available for uploading and syncing files to the cloud, along with other top contenders like Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive, the latter of which is probably the best due to its incredible features and unbelievably low prices.
OneDrive is still a great option even though it isn’t as inexpensive as Google Drive, especially for those of you who enjoy using Microsoft’s software and services. You can store any type of file, including photos, videos, documents, and programmes, and access them from any Windows computer or mobile device. It also seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Office programmes like Word and PowerPoint. Users of Office 365 can access saved documents and work together on them in real time. Because that is what the service does, it also functions as a file organiser. It groups files by kind so that you can easily locate them when you need them. OneDrive accounts come with 7GB of file storage, a 2GB file size limit, and compatibility for numerous operating systems including Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows.
Remember that you won’t need to register a new Microsoft Account if you already have one. Just go to the OneDrive sign in page, enter your Microsoft account credentials, and then enable the service.
Tutorial for OneDrive Account Access
- Start by visiting OneDrive’s main page at https://onedrive.live.com/.
- Next to the “Sign Up” button I described before in the upper right corner of your screen, click the “Sign In” button.
- Fill up the second field box with your user password.
- All you have to do to enter is click the blue “Sign In” button at the bottom of the access form.

Click the “Sign Up” button in the upper right corner of your screen, then click the “Sign Up Now” link on the right side of the page. After filling out the registration form, click the blue “Create Account” button at the bottom of the page.

If you can’t remember your username or password, return to the site’s user access page by doing the steps I previously outlined and clicking the “Can’t Access Your Account?” link that is directly below the blue “Sign In” button.
- Click “Next” after choosing one of the three choices in the upper left corner of your screen.
